What we love about Moodle
_______________________________________
One of the nice features in Moodle is the Calendar. This is an improvement on the calendar system in BlackBoard in that it compiles all of the student’s course calendars into a single calendar for them. This assists students in recognizing ahead of time when they will have numerous assignments due at the same time so they can plan ahead. Students can also add “User Events” (personal entries) into the Calendar allowing them to track not only their Online and Moodle assisted courses, but other courses and personal deadlines.

This week’s Website is a compilation of VIDEO tutorials. If you are looking for something in particular (e.g. adding a PowerPoint presentation, adding a game) I would search the site for the specific term otherwise browse the large selection of videos available and gather new ideas for your course. If you find something of interest click on the play button and away you go.

Best Practices

Set up all assignments before the class begins. If students will be uploading documents (e.g. Word, Adobe/PDF) choose “Advanced uploading of files.”This will allow you to upload feedback to them in the grade book if you desire.Downloading written assignments and using the “Track Changes” feature in Word to edit and comment on the work is an effective way to deal with feedback.
